Glenn Edward Swearingin, 82, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri passed away December 7, 2020 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. Glenn was born October 4, 1938 to Obria P. Swearingin and Eva Grace Odell. In 1956, Glenn joined the Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany. After returning from his service, he met and later married Mary Bray. In this union they brought 3 daughters into the world. They eventually divorced and in 1977, Glenn met Carolyn Giefer. They were later united in marriage on September 8, 1992. With that union, Glenn added a stepdaughter and stepson to his family. Glenn worked for 30 ½ years on the line at Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri. After retiring in 1992, he started working with his 2 brothers in their construction business, Swearingin and Sons. He always said working with his brothers was the best job he ever had, as he enjoyed going to work with them everyday. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, his parents and 3 brothers, James Swearingin, Donald Swearingin, and Charles Swearingin. Glenn is survived by his daughters Vicki Ferril, of Lathrop, Missouri, Karyn (Shaun) Henggeler of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Kim (Dennis) Aldrich of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, stepdaughter Terry Giefer of Kansas City, Missouri, and stepson Rob Giefer of Wisconsin. A sister Betty (Dean) Barton of Richmond, Missouri, and a brother Earl Ray (Cheryl) Swearingin, 15 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Granddaughter. Also there are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him. The family suggests Memorial Donations to The Wounded Warriors Project or another charity of your choosing in his name.
