Angel Bishop posted a condolence

My sweet, sweet aunt Brenda Lee... my heart is broken. Knowing I won’t get to see home in your eyes upon my travels back to my roots, won’t get to feel that deep, unconditional love from your hugs only, that I won’t get to hear you say, “I love you girl” and “now don’t you forget that, Angel Lynn!” and that I won’t get to say it back to you. You always saw me off with a heart full of love and an unspoken encouragement to chase my dreams and never to forget where my home is. I love you more than you could ever know and I imagine your soul finding your sisters, Linda May (mom) & Charlotte Jean, & your mom & dad; in this thought, I can find happiness to hold on to.

I have known Brenda for about five years. She moved to the house next door in Windsor and she and Jesse have been wonderful neighbors and friends. Whenever I came home or went outside to do chores, Brenda usually came out of her house to talk or help, sometimes without shoes or teeth. She thought she could do anything, even though she was just a tiny person. If she thought I needed anything, she helped or sent Jesse to help. I feel lost every time I return home now and I miss her so much.
She watched my house, let me know when people stopped by, and helped me rake and burn leaves. Brenda was curious about what was going on in the neighborhood and was a very positive influence on the children there. She was generous to them and they came to visit her frequently. They will miss her so much. They were asking me how she was doing and we all hoped and expected her to come home.
Brenda was very determined and a real character. She bragged on anything I cooked for her. and didn't tell me she was diabetic until the third or fourth dessert. Although I didn’t understand it, Brenda told me to put my trash with theirs. I kept setting it by my house until she told me that she just picked it up and moved it to their trash after I left. I am not sure that I still understand but I have added my trash to their containers since then. I shared her dislike of cold weather and enjoyed her opinions and efforts. She was on the telephone and Facebook frequently and loved her family.
Brenda and Jesse worked on their home and loved taking care of the dogs. They shared a garden with me and they grew highly productive tomatoes and peppers. We were already planning next summer. They mowed my yard, picked up litter, and cleaned the walks because I told Brenda I disliked mowing. Brenda was not impressed by my shortcut of running the lawnmower down the sidewalks instead of sweeping or blowing them off so she did it “right” and told me not to bother. Brenda planted flowers and grew beautiful flowers. This past summer, the size of her sunflowers was unbelievable.
Brenda and Jesse have made me feel safe and happy. They were great friends and I will miss Brenda so much. I don’t understand losing Brenda. It is God’s plan so we must go on. It will be difficult, especially for Jesse. We will all miss her forever but we have to live and honor her memory.
