Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beverly Ann Sawyer, 82, of Richmond, Missouri passed away January 7, 2021. Beverly was born May 20, 1938 to Harry Alexander Eaken and Esta Belle Bearden in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in May of 1956. She married Joe Dean Sawyer on December 15, 1956. In 1971 they moved from Kansas City, Kansas to a farm in the Rayville/Lawson, Missouri area. Raising four boys while there. She worked at Hallmark Cards in Liberty, Missouri for 20+ years. Upon retirement in 1996 her and Joe moved to Blue Eye, Missouri and had a home on Table Rock Lake. She really loved the lake, gardening, and relaxing, but also having neighbors and friends over to visit. Beverly was a big Royals and Chiefs fan. She would read updates about them in the paper and have her TV on ready to go when they played. If you talked bad about them, especially her Chiefs, while she was trying to watch them she would be sure to let you have it. Her and Joe moved back to the Richmond, Missouri area in 2004 to be closer to old friends and especially old friends from church where they once raised their kids. Beverly was baptized into Christ when she was 19 years old. Her true devotion was being a faithful Christian. Praying and studying her Bible and listening to sound gospel preaching. Whether it was in church or just gathered with a few Christian friends she loved singing spiritual songs. When traveling she still wanted to stop and gather with other Christians on the Lord's Day to remember her Savior's death by partaking of the Lord's Supper and to praise God. She also loved to be in Bible class teaching the little children back when her health allowed. She loved her family and friends, but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she thought the world of. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Joe Sawyer, her parents Harry and Esta Eaken and one brother Eddie Eaken. Beverly is survived by her sister Wanda (Chuck) Lueb of Plattsburg, Missouri, sons David Dean (Ruth) of Yantis, TX, Joseph Robert (Brenda) of Peora, AZ, Keith Alan (Linda) of Thornton, CO, and John William (Delana) of Richmond, MO, 9 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed and loved by so many.
