Joyce Ann Cooper, 81 years, of Lawson, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, at her residence in Lawson Missouri where she lived with her daughter, son in law and crazy cat who were at her side. She was born on Tuesday, October 3, 1939, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Orville and the late Cora (née O'Conners) Thomas. She married Sir Herbert Roy Cooper, II, in 1961. He died later that same year on December 5, 1961. Survivors Include: • Vicki (Patrick) Clark, daughter, of Lawson MO • Herbert (Kathy) Cooper III, son, of Bellevue, Nebraska • Timothy Montee, son, of Keytesville, Missouri • James R. Montee, son, of Higbee, Missouri • Orville (Mary) Eugene Thomas, Jr, brother, of Laurie, Missouri • 14 grandchildren • 16 great-grandchildren • Riley, her beloved dog • Crazy cat who slept with her almost every night In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by: • Deborah K. Davies, infant daughter • Ronald Edward Thomas, brother Joyce loved playing BINGO, BINGO was her passion. lipstick on, hair fixed ,bingo bag in arm and ready to go out the door! She was also a great cook, and enjoyed making feasts for the family to enjoy especially her Chili and Swedish meatballs . Before moving to Lawson, Missouri, with her daughter, she lived in Omaha, Nebraska, Keytesville, MO, and Salisbury, MO. She raised many of her grandchildren, and loved them all dearly. She enjoyed sending cards for all occasions and saved every one she ever received. Joyce lived on a farm when she was younger, raising livestock and did this for many years. She worked many jobs from being a bartender for her mothers bar in Missouri to Security guard at KCI to dietary supervisor at Liberty Hospital and retiring from there many years ago . She also leaves many other relatives. There will be no funeral services per Joyce's wishes, there will be a celebration of life at a later date in Lawson Mo by the family. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest with her husband Sir Herbert Roy Cooper II . Memorial donations may be directed to St Judes Children's Research Hospital and/or any local senior services organization of your choice in her name
