Verne Etta Mistretta, 92 years, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021. She was born on Monday, December 10, 1928, in Millington, Tennessee, the daughter of the late William Bullington and the late Christine (née Shepherd) Forbes. Survivors Include: • John Gallagher, son, of Liberty, MO • Linda Lawson, daughter, of San Juan Capistrano, CA • Sandi Roehlk, step-daughter, of Fort Jones, CA • Debbie Gerringer, step-daughter, of Fontana, CA • 14 Grandchildren • Numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren Verne was preceded in death by: • Victor Mistretta, Sr, Husband • Victor Mistretta, Jr, step-son • Thomas Richard Gallagher, son • Kenneth Forbes Gallagher, son Verne earned her Master's Degree from Cal-State, Los Angeles, in Mathematics. She went on to teach Math at Alta Loma school district and was instrumental in helping the school district in obtaining Apple Computers for the schools. There is a building named after her at Alta Loma Junior High School. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, square dancing, and traveling everywhere. She enjoyed Italy, Paris, and Branson. Verne loved being surrounded by her family. The family will be scheduling a virtual Celebration of Life at a later date, as well as a Graveside Service in California.
