Billy Ellison, 85, of Kearney, Missouri passed away on May 9, 2021 at New Mark Care Center. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30PM, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Hidden Valley Funeral Home Kearney. Graveside services will be held at 2:30PM, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kearney, Missouri. Mr. Ellison was born on August 5, 1935 in Picher, Oklahoma. Billy received his Eagle Scout. He joined the Army and was honorably discharged. He came home to co-manage the Dehydrator with his father. In February of 1966 he married Mary M. Herdmen and a year later, daughter Brenda was born. Billy discovered that he had a love for driving. At first he was an OT trucker with wife Mary, next he worked for Geiger Ready Mix and finally Lafarge as a materials driver until his retirement in 2002. Billy was a proud member of the local Teamsters Union. Billy helped start the Missouri Campers on Mission, he was the Disaster Relief Chairman for the American Red Cross for Clay and Jackson counties. A devoted deacon of the Southern Baptist Church and anytime a volunteer was needed Billy was always the first to step forward. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marry Ellison (Hermen) of Liberty, Missouri, and Lena Ellison (Taylor) of Kansas City, Missouri, his parents William R. Ellison and Mary E. Ellison (Gardner) of Kearney, Missouri, nephew Kurt D. Ellison, Kearney, Missouri. Survivors include his daughter Brenda Jones (Ellison) of Lathrop, Missouri, brother L. Glenn Ellison of Kearney, Missouri, son-in-law Jeffrey Jones, grandchildren Tyler Jones (KS) and Megan Jones (MO), sister-in-law Marry Ellison (McGinnis), nieces; Kelly Thuston (Wendy), Shelly Barry (TJ), Terri Greene (Jeff), and numerous great nieces and nephews.
