Mavis Jane Wendt, 86, of Kearney, Mo passed away May 23, 2021 at her residence at Oak Point of Kearney with her three daughters by her side. Family graveside service will be held at 1:00 Saturday June 26, 2021 at Windy Hill Cemetery. Graveside service will be followed by a Celebration of Life at 3 pm at the home of Brett & Melissa Jones, 13051 South New Garden Road, Excelsior Springs, MO. Please join us then to celebrate Mavis and share the many memories we have of her. Mrs. Wendt was born April 4, 1935 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Mavis married Dan Wendt May 2, 1959. They were married for 56 years and had three daughters. Mavis enjoyed being with her family, playing cards, quilting and socializing. She worked for ESSD and Westfall O’Dell where she retired from in 1997 to move full time with Dan to Warsaw, Mo where they enjoyed being active in the Methodist Church and spending time fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband Dan in 2015. Survivors include Melissa (Brett) Jones, Julie (Anita) Carver , Kara (Wesley) Madsen, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
