Memorial service will be held August 4th 2021, at 1 pm-3pm at the Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Lawson, 412 N Raum St. Lawson, Missouri. James LeRoy Ivie, 73, of Polo, Missouri passed away on July 23, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital. James was born May 29, 1948, in Vinita, Oklahoma and was the oldest son born to James Roy Ivie and Geneva Inez Money-Ivie. He attended High School in Oklahoma and continued his studies at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1971. James has worked as a pharmacist all his life. He purchased the Brown’s Pharmacy of Excelsior Springs, Missouri in 2000 and spent the next 20 years prior to his retirement being a friendly face behind the counter. Upon his retirement James tended to his acreage, tinkered on tractors, and continued to be a generous and helpful member of his community, never turning down a neighbor in need. He is preceded in death by his son James Ray Ivie. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Cheryl Bennett Ivie and his grandson, James Bennett Ivie. As is James’ wish, his ashes will be laid to rest with his beloved son, James Ray Ivie.
