Obituary of Ava Nicole Holder

Please share a memory of Ava to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with an impossible sadness that we announce that Ava Nicole Holder unexpectedly earned her heavenly wings while sleeping at home on October 11, 2021. Ava was born on August 11, 2005 at North Kansas City Hospital and was the third of four children of Clayton Holder and Kendra Holder. She attended school at the Kearney R-I School District from kindergarten until 10th grade. Ava was a proud Bulldog and was involved in volleyball, track, basketball, and the National Junior High Honor Society. Her favorite pastimes included: going to the lake, riding four-wheelers, hanging out with friends, watching “Vampire Diaries”, sleeping, messing with her little brother Cade, taking selfies for her Instagram, and creating videos for her TikTok. Ava was a special young lady that changed the lives of those that had the honor of knowing her. Her dry wit, her disapproving looks, and her smile possessed the power to make everyone’s day better. She was truly one of a kind. Although her time here was too short her impact was immense. The world needs more Avas. Ava is survived by her beloved parents Kendra Holder (Kearney) and Clayton (Julie) Holder (Lawson), five loving siblings Brady Holder, Olivia Holder, Cade Holder (Kearney), Zach and Alex Marquez (Lawson), maternal grandparents Beverly Harris (Kearney) and Roy Sparks (Kearney), paternal grandparent, Sherry Holder (Lawson), uncles and aunts including Ben/Laurie Holder (Minnesota), Kelly/Deb Holder (Excelsior Springs), Alex/Jennifer Holder (Lawson), Kara/Matt Visi (Kearney) Dirk Sparks (Kansas City) and as well by many loving and supporting cousins. Ava was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bill Holder (Vibbard), and beloved uncle, Brad Holder (South Carolina). Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Kearney, 1000 E State Route 92, Kearney, MO. 64060 on Sunday, Oct 17, 2021, from 3-6pm. Please come dressed as you would like, including fun and colorful attire to honor Ava’s bright personality. In honor of Ava, please write a memory you have of her to give to the family. There will be a memory basket at the celebration of life to receive all your letters.
