Vivian Shelton, 89, of Excelsior Springs Missouri, passed away November 5, 2021 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty Missouri. Visitation will be held 4-5:30 on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs. Mrs. Shelton was born July 1, 1932 in Excelsior Springs Missouri to John and Georgia Welchel. She Married the love of her life, Ivan, on May 19, 1951. They were married for 63 happy years until Ivan’s death in 2014. Vivian was a proud, lifelong resident of Excelsior Springs where she lived and worked her entire life. She worked at the McCleary Hospital until its closing. She was most passionate about her faith and fellowship at Christian Union Church. She made many of her lifelong friends at that church. She was greatly loved by her family and friends. Vivian is survived by one nephew, John Beasley Sr., Great nephews, John Beasley Jr, great niece, Kathryn Clapp, and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Shelton, sister, Frances Beasley, and parents, John & Georgia Welchel.
