Jonathan (Jon) Timothy Pendergrast passed away at his rural Lawson home on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. He was 48 years old. Jon was born on September 28, 1973, in Harrisonville, Missouri, to Edwin Allen and Kay Marie (Witthar) Pendergrast. He graduated from Cass-Midway High School in 1992. The family lived on a farm near Drexel, Missouri before moving to the Lawson area in 1995. Jon owned and operated his scrap metal recycling business for over 13 years. Jon is survived by his mother, Kay Pendergrast, and two older brothers, Joseph (Joe) and James (Jim) Pendergrast. Joe lives in Marietta, GA and is married to Sandy, with daughter Christina, and son Nathaniel. Jim Pendergrast lives in Kearney, MO and has a daughter, Chancey. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jon was preceded in death by his father, Edwin, in 2015. The Visitation and Celebration of Life service will be at Pisgah Baptist Church at 112 Pisgah Dr. Excelsior Springs, MO. Visitation will be from 6 – 7 pm, and the Celebration of Life will be from 7 – 8 pm on Monday, December 20th. The family has asked for donations to support the cremation expenses.
