Jason Andrew Leighton passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 46. Jason was born on September 3, 1975, in Smithville, MO to William Michael & Betty Joy Leighton. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1994. Jason worked at Mcclane Company as an operations manager & he had recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with the company. Jason is preceded in death by his father William Michael Leighton, his paternal grandparents William L. & Myrtle Leighton & his maternal grandparents Wallace & Darlene Wilkerson. Jason is survived by his mother Betty Joy Leighton of Lee's Summit, MO, his grandmother Betty Rae Wilkerson of Excelsior Springs, MO, his sister Kris Leighton (Erik) of Parkville, MO, his brother Greg Leighton of Kearney, MO & his sister Rachel Tucker (Will) of Kansas City, MO, nephews Jacob & Tyler Derr of Parkville, MO. He is also survived by many friends who loved him dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Kearney on Saturday April 30, 2022, at 1:00 PM. .
