Dennis Paul Walters, 68 years young, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, graduated to his Heavenly home on January 16, 2022. Services at Crescent Lake Christian Center will be held on January 29, 2022. Visitation will be held at 10:00am followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00am. Dennis was born on October 3rd, 1953 in Ozark, Missouri. Better known as Papa D, he fiercely loved Jesus and his family with his whole heart. He could always be heard whistling, making his famous Saturday morning breakfasts, ready to give you a fireball from the stash in his pocket, armed with a corny dad joke and giving you a silly nickname. He loved big and was always there to help. He loved mowing his lawn (and everyone else’s), and riding around town on his moped. He took pride in serving his church, his country, and served his family best of all. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Walters, son Timothy Walters (Regina), daughter Mayvis Walters, daughter Niki Howard (Dalinuel), daughter Stacy Sykes (Jarrett), son Eric McKown (Nena), daughter Christa Olvera (Jguadalupe), daughter Jessica Shockley (Spencer), son Josiah Walters (Alecia), daughter Lydia Shannon (Miles), 23 grandkids, 8 (+ 1 on the way) great-grandkids, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He will be greatly missed, but the heritage of Papa D will live on through his family. In lieu of flowers, donations for the family can be made through Crescent Lake Christian Center.
