Obituary of Candice Renae Stephens

Please share a memory of Candice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Candice Renae Stephens, 56, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. She was born on Sunday, May 19, 1965, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Eva (née Minnis) DeArmon. Candice was a lover of all things outdoors. She loved the Colorado Mountains, canoeing, traveling somewhere that she could rent a cabin, and even just spending time outside on her back deck. Summers were spent at her “second home” on her Uncle’s large pond equipped with a dock, rope swing and all the other gadgets Candice would need for her and her family to enjoy the water. Her family, especially the grandkids, were who she loved spending the most time with. Well, them and her cat, Izzy, of course (she only liked Candice, but we can’t forget about her). If she wasn’t busy watching a grandbaby, you could probably find her out shopping. Clothes, shoes, handbags— she was serious about her shopping. She occasionally allowed her husband, Tony, to drive her around from store to store, but only if her daughter wasn’t tagging along because then they needed to hide the shopping bags. Candice was a people person, and that’s exactly why she loved her job at the bank. She enjoyed the people she worked with and customers who turned into friends over her 17 year employment there.
