Richard F Champlain, 72, of Kearney, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. He was born on Friday, July 1, 1949, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of the late Vernard Champlain and Billie (née Hanks) Champlain-Ryle. He was an avid outdoors man and loved spending time with family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sports especially when his kids and grandkids were playing. He recently retired from EJ, although only partially. He worked as a salesman, which was right up his alley as he loved working with people, and meeting new friends. He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and will receive Military Honors during his Celebration of Life. Survivors Include: • Billie Jean Champlain-Ryle, mother, of Kansas City, Missouri • Benjamin (Kimberly) Champlain, son, of Lee's Summit, Missouri • Beth Gray, Daughter, of Wellington, Missouri • Brandy (Colby Shores) Champlain, daughter, of Kearney, Missouri • Lexi (Kody) Runions, daughter, of Lathrop, Missouri • Blake, Kelsey, and Keylea Gray; Paden and Wyatt Champlain; Noralee Shores; and Lucky #7 Runions, grandchildren • Cindy (Jack) Thomas, sister • Bill (Vickie) Champlain, brother Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Feb 11, 2022, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Liberty.
