Melissa Renea (Johnson) Hoover (53), of Kearney, following a courageous 3-year battle with cancer, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday March 4, 2022. Born August 30, 1968, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Allan Johnson and the late Marcia Moffitt Johnson, Melissa was a naturally gifted artist with a perpetually sunny disposition. “Missy” married her husband, high school sweetheart and love of her life August 3, 1991, in their hometown church. She dedicated her life to her beloved family as well as her work family Church Mutual, where she earned a successful career and 20-year tenure. Please join us for a Celebration of Life Sunday March 13 from Noon to 1:30 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney, 925 East State Route 92. This will be a time of fellowship and storytelling.
