Gerald Richard Small passed away in his home on March 12, 2022, at the age of 85. His loving and creative spirit will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Gerald was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 29, 1936, to Juanita Mildred (Houtchens) Small and Richard Calvin Small. He spent 30 years at the US Postal Service before his retirement and enjoyed reading, silversmithing, woodworking, and traveling to all 50 states. He was also in the U.S. Army from 1959-1965. Gerald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda, their son and daughter-in-law, Steven Richard and Ruth Small, their daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Scott Brelsford, and grandchildren, Kimberly Small, Kalli Brelsford, Zachary and wife Stephanie Brelsford and great-grandchildren, Ella and Emily. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nancy, and his grandson, Christopher Richard Small. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Gerald's name to KC Pet Project or any other animal rescue organization.
