Laura Lee West, 56, died March 10, 2022. Laura was born April 16, 1965 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri to the late Elizabeth Belle Good and the late James Gerald Hutchings. She is survived by two daughters: Ashley Nicole Hutchings, of Kansas City, Missouri and Stephanie Lynn Marquez of Smithville, Missouri. Laura had 4 grandchildren: Kameron Lee Marquez age 20, Malia JoAnn Marquez 16, Austin Michael Marquez 15 & KayLynn J Marquez 2. Laura is survived by her 2 sisters: Crystal Canfield-Hutchings and Jennifer Jordan; and her brother Jeremy Jordan. She was also the proud Aunt of 13 nieces & nephews & several great nieces & nephews. Laura was a hard worker all of her life most recently serving as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service where she dedicated the last 18 years of her life. She was even able to relocate and work in San Juan Puerto Rico in 2014 when the post office approved her transfer to the island. Laura wasn't known for being shy and made many new friends while working with the post office. She will be missed dearly by all especially her best good girl, Shoogy, her english springer spaniel. Visitation for Laura will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 11a-12:30p at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney, followed by her funeral at 12:30. She will be buried at South Point Cemetery in Orrick, Missouri, following her funeral.
