Marsha Kaye (Crawford) Anderson, 73 of Kearney, Missouri, passed away at her home on March 26, 2022, following a 4-year battle with Primary Biliary Cholangitis, an autoimmune disorder that affects the liver. Marsha was born on April 6, 1948, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Victor and Dorothy (Law) Crawford of Unionville, Missouri. After graduating from Unionville High School in 1965, Marsha attended cosmetology school in Kirksville, Missouri, and married her high school sweetheart, Hubert (Andy) Anderson on July 11, 1965. Her first job was with Kay’s Boutique in Centerville, Iowa, and a few years later opened her first salon, Main Street Beauty Spot, in a basement off the square in Centerville. She later moved the salon to a building on the southeast corner of the square. When Centerville constructed its first indoor mall, Lake Center Mall, Marsha moved the business and renamed it Lake Center Beauty Salon, quickly becoming the largest salon in Centerville. In the early 1980’s Marsha sold the salon and went on the road selling beauty supplies for Geo H. Weyer, Inc. During this tenure, she opened another salon in the old Montgomery Ward location on the east side of the square in Centerville, calling it Le Clipper Beauty Salon. Under new ownership, the salon still exists today under the name Le Clipper Salon and Spa. Marsha went on to own another salon, Barry Trail Hair Stylists, in Kansas City, Missouri, which she operated until her retirement. Marsha enjoyed quilting and crocheting, but her favorite hobby was collecting dolls, especially taking older collectible dolls that needed repair and giving them new clothes and a hair-do. She also enjoyed traveling, seeing most of the United States, as well as England, Ireland, Scotland, France, and Italy. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Dorothy Crawford, her sister, Vickie (Crawford) Swan, and her brothers Robin Crawford and Russell Crawford. She is survived by her husband, Andy, her son, Steven (Linda) Anderson of Crane, Missouri, daughter Brenda (Brad) Bradshaw of Kansas City, Missouri, granddaughters Stephanie Bradshaw of Willard, Missouri, Jacqueline and Nicole Bradshaw of Kansas City, Missouri, Tegan Anderson of Baxter Springs, Kansas, and two step grandchildren, Elisa Cobos and Ian Cobos of Crane, Missouri, brothers Robert (Cynthia) Crawford of Kansas City, Missouri, Roland (Renee) Crawford of Phoenix, Arizona, and Roger (Brenda) Crawford of Unionville, Missouri, brothers-in-law Robert (Erna) Anderson of Kidder, Missouri, David (Joy) Anderson of Kearney, Missouri, sisters-in-law Linda Crawford of Unionville, Missouri and Marjorie Anderson of Oak Grove, Missouri. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at The Rock KC,12750 N Winan Rd, Kansas City, Missouri, from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. on April 9, 2022.
