Velma Frances Clancy, 93, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri passed away April 28, 2022 at Valley Manor. Visitation will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs with a graveside service at Richmond Memorial Gardens to follow. Mrs. Clancy was born on March 9, 1929 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Velma very much enjoyed spending time with her family, watching old westerns, listening to old country music, and in her younger days she loved dancing. She also enjoyed going out to eat and it didn't matter how far away the restaurant was because she loved long car rides on the back roads. She could be found at the Elks Lodge in Excelsior Springs where she served as an ambassador and loved sharing Excelsior Springs history with anyone who would listen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Junior D. Clancy, mother Madalene (Crowley) Todd of Excelsior Springs, father Lester Todd of California, sister Dora Joann (Todd) Frye, grandson James Bond, and nephew Gary Frye. Survivors include her children: Linda (Becky Kersey) Bond, Donna Benne, Darral (Teri) Clancy, Michael Clancy, and Tim (Nancy) Clancy; grandchildren, Derrick (Courtney) Clancy and Kimberly Bond; 8 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Randy, Brian, Stephen, and Larry Todd, Karen, Patty, Mark, Leann, and Cheryl Frye.
