Obituary of Bobby Owen Holtzclaw

Bobby Owen Holtzclaw, 86 years of Lincoln, MO passed away on Friday May 13, 2022, his wife Lois by his side. He was born on Thursday February 20, 1936, in Lawson, the son of the late Charles and the late Burnice (Fields) Holtzclaw. Bob was in the U.S. Army from April 1954 to March 1956. After his discharge he went to work for Woolf Bros. Laundry in Kansas City, MO as a mechanic, this is where he met, dated, and after four months married his wife Lois of 65 1/2 years. Where Lois also worked in the office of the laundry. Bob liked to play his martin guitar, do mechanical work, farm, have a garden, fishing, hunting, and reminisce about the old times. Having family dinners and loved having the family around. Bob played music with his band at the American Legion in Warsaw, MO for over eight years, several times at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lincoln, MO and several other places over the years. Because of his health he had to stop playing music out in public. Bob is survived by his wife Lois Holtzclaw of the home, three sons; Tony (Donna) Holtzclaw Sr., Bob Holtzclaw Jr., and Dwayne (Marsha) Holtzclaw, six grandchildren; Tony (Leslie) Holtzclaw Jr. Carolyn, Angela (Brandon) Bernard, Bob (Lisa) Holtzclaw III, Erik, Anna (Alex) Waltman. great grandchildren; Ashtyn (Gary Thorpe), Trenten (Jordan), Cody, Steven, Braden, Tyler, and Easton, Delena, Phillip, Ruby, and Oliver, step grandchildren; Andrew and Kyle Franz, and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, sister; Dixie (Wayne) Klingensmith, Wanda (Bill) McElwee, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Burnice Holtzclaw, grandparents George and Mary Holtzclaw who partially raised him, brothers Billy, Junior, Wayne, John and Larry. Bob will be sadly missed by all of his family and many friends. He no doubt has a new band in heaven, and he is probably playing a gold martin guitar with the angels. Bobby Holtzclaw Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs 5951 Highway 10, Excelsior Springs, Service at 2:00-3:00 PM, Graveside following at Lawson Cemetery. .
