Obituary of Maribelle Love

Maribelle Love, 84, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney, 925 E. State Route 92, Kearney, Missouri. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 9 from 11:00-12:00 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney, 925 E. State Route 92, Kearney, Missouri. Interment service will follow funeral at Missouri City Cemetery. Following graveside interment, a luncheon will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney. All are welcome. Maribelle was born on Thursday, August 5, 1937 in Independence, the daughter of the late ¬-Norman Carlson and the late Irene (née Newsome) Good. Maribelle took great pride in her service to the US Women’s Army Corps (WACS), where she was “discovered” and asked to model in the Army Times newspaper. Among other jobs, she enjoyed her years working on the deck crew at Sam’s Town Casino and loved being the “Free Sample Lady” at Sam’s Club Warehouse. Most importantly, she was an amazing mom, loving grandma, beloved sister and aunt. Her family was her life’s joy. Survived by three children: Mike (Allyson) Love, Julie (John) Quick, Leigh Ann (Doug) Bias, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Love, eleven grandchildren: Adam Love, Chris Love, Andrea Heiser, Tiffany Bottom, Jessie Quick, Jake Quick, Molleigh Hopkins, Kyle Hopkins, David Love Jr., Sonja Dewey, Kaysi Alpers, one sister, Sally Daugherty, and fifteen great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Maribelle was preceded in death by her son, David Love, and two siblings: Kay Edwards and David Carlson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the following: PBS (Public Broadcasting Service), Kansas City Hospice House, and Platte Senior Services, Inc.
