Obituary of Abigail Liberty Hart
Please share a memory of Abigail to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Abigail Liberty Hart, 9 months old, of Liberty Missouri, passed away on Thursday July
21, 2022 at Children's Mercy Hospital, where she remained throughout her life.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held on
Saturday, July 30 at 10:30 AM both at Crossroads Community Church 2855 Edgar Petty Road,
Kearney, Mo. Internment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Kearney, Mo.
She was born at Children's Mercy Hospital on Thursday October 14, 2021 in Kansas
City Missouri. She is the third daughter of Devin and Stephanie (York) Hart.
Abigail had a vivacious personality, having the ability to touch those around her with her
eyes. Many adjectives can be used to describe her, but the word strong is probably the
most fitting. She fought through more surgeries in her 9 months on this earth than
most people do in a lifetime, due to congenital heart defects.
She loved to listen to recordings of birds, you could see her relax when
she heard them chirping, and if they stopped chirping, she made her displeasure known. She
also enjoyed rocking and being held by her family and nurses, especially when they were
reading books with interactive pictures! One of the largest displeasures in her life was oxygen
tubing in her nose. She took every opportunity to pull it out, with the nurses putting it back,
playing a little game of cat and mouse. One of her most miraculous accomplishments in her life
was defying doctors predictions by coming off dialysis with functioning kidneys.
This truly showcased her warrior spirit.
She is survived by her parents: Stephanie Jean Hart, Devin Lawrence Hart, two
siblings: Sarah Hart and Rachel Hart, four grandparents: Tommy Hart, Andra Hart, Larry
York Jr., Esther York, two great grandparents: Al Keehler, Lorraine Keehler, two uncles:
Jacob Hart, Travis Hart, and many other family and friends.
