James Edward Berry, 84 years, of Turney Missouri, passed away on Thursday August 4, 2022. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug 9 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney 925 E. State Route 92, Kearney. A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday Aug 10 at Turney Cemetery in Turney Missouri. James was born on Monday March 21, 1938 in Clay County, the son of the late Luther and the late Bernice (née Branson) Berry. James was a loving man, who wrapped his arms around all of his family and friends. He was one of the most dependable and selfless persons. He loved trap shooting and sod farming almost as much as his family. One would need to take the love he gave with a little grain of salt, always knowing a zinger was coming to poke at you. James was hard working, loyal, loving, and generous; characteristics that we should all try and embody. James is survived by his two children: Becky (Richard) Cowsert, Rick (Doris) Berry, five grandchildren: Chris Cowsert, Jacob Cowsert, Richard (Jamie) Berry, Brian Berry, James Berry, two great grandchildren: Kendall Berry, Clayton Berry, and special friend, Ginger Pack. He is preceded in death by wife Shirley Berry, five siblings: Frances Messick, Anna Mae Thompson, Kenneth Berry, Edward Berry, Philip Berry, and his beloved dog, Angel Berry.
