Richard Dale Thornbrugh, 82, passed away peacefully September 14, 2022. Richard was born in Williamsburg, KS June 15, 1940 to Richard and Frankeye Thornbrugh. He married Joan Thornbrugh on August 10, 1963 in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and they remained happily married until his death. Richard worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years to provide a wonderful life for his family. Richard was a beloved father and papa, who was adored by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard loved his family with his whole heart. He could always be found around the property making sure the yard and pasture looked like a national park. Richard loved being outside, coon and coyote hunting, and dropping everything to give the grandkids or great grandkids a ride on the gator on his land in Lawson, Missouri. Richard is survived by his wife, Joan Thornbrugh, children: Kim Arnold, Tracy (Randy) Myers, and Steven Thornbrugh; 8 grandchildren: Leslie Maddox; John (Hailee) Arnold;; Jessica (Joseph) Evert; Lane (Alexandria) Arnold; Cheyenne (Samuel) Cosgrove; Quinten (Sadie) Myers; Aaliyah Thornbrugh; and Jasmine Thornbrugh; and 7 great grandchildren: Gage and Cameron Maddox; Scarlett and Henry Arnold; Michael and Colin Cosgrove; and Kasen Arnold. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Frankeye Thornbrugh and daughter-in-law Cristy Thornbrugh. As the patriarch, the hole Richard has left in the hearts of his family members is immense. His presence, teasing remarks, and love will be missed beyond measure. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the family in honor of Richard.
