Obituary of Lynette Susan Manley

Please share a memory of Lynette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lynette Susan (Clark) Manley, age 66, of Elmira, NY, passed away on September 23, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born on November 9, 1955 to Reedie and Beatrice Clark. Lynette was a graduate of Horseheads High School, in Horseheads, NY, class of 1974. On May 22, 1982, she married Kent Manley of Excelsior Springs, Missouri. They resided in Excelsior Springs since 1982, making it home to their two children: Kenneth and Amy. Lynette easily fell into the role of wife, mother and later grandmother (aka “Nonnie”). Lynette loved her family tremendously and you didn’t have to be blood related to fall into this classification. She had a huge heart and was a very generous person. Lynette enjoyed calling bingo on Friday nights, gambling at the casino, and baking her remarkable brownies. She knew how to enjoy what mattered to her most, and that was her grandchildren. She supported and loved them unconditionally, so much so that she would let them eat ice cream for breakfast. Lynette was also a proud member of the Excelsior Springs Ladies Auxiliary. Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, Reedie and Beatrice Clark; her husband, Kent Manley; mother-in-law, Sonja Manley; brother-in-law, Korey Manley; sister-in-law, Kathy Peebles; and sister-in-law, Kristen Clark. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Ember) Manley and Amy (Keith) Keplinger; two brothers, Robert Clark and Butch (Diane) Clark; one sister, Reeda Clark; six grandchildren, Karalyn Manley, Taryn Manley, Ryker Mertzig, Blake Keplinger, Kent “Bryar” Keplinger, and Brixlee Manley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022. The family will hold a visitation at 10:00 a.m. and funeral at 12:00 p.m. at Hidden Valley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, MO. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, following the service.
