Philip worked for 30 years at the Clay County Sheriff's Department, rising to the rank of Captain, spending 20 years as head of the Civil Division, and retiring as head of Court Security. He was also a lifelong farmer in Clay and Ray Counties, working the family farmland near Orrick, Missouri. Philip also held the honor of being the Longest Time Living Member of the Excelsior Elks Lodge at 69 years. He was active in the community; He was a former President of the Excelsior Quarterback Club, and was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge. He was a member of the Missouri State Tractor Pullers Association, and was a two-tim Missouri State Champion of the Stock 10,000 pound Tractor Pulling Class. Philip was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
