Obituary of Nancy Evelyn Offield

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy E. Offield, 80, earned her wings to heaven at 9:21pm, November 4, 2020. She passed peacefully after a long battle with multiple health issues. Anyone who knew her knows she was the most loving person and should feel blessed to have been a part of her life. She was born on Tuesday January 2, 1940 in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of the late Cecil Lee and the late Gladys Rae (Stokesberry) Hamlin. She lovingly leaves behind daughters; • Pamela Stewart, Excelsior Springs, MO • Jenece (Daniel) Saunders, Excelsior Springs, MO Grandchildren • Mindy Stewart, Excelsior Springs, MO • Lindsay (Casey) Johnson, Lawson, MO • Trey Stewart, Excelsior Springs, MO • Brennan Saunders, Excelsior Springs, MO Great Grandchildren that loved her “Berry” much • Blaise Johnson, Lawson, MO • Maddox Stewart, Excelsior Springs, MO • Avery Stewart, Lathrop, MO She also will be greatly missed by her sister Elva (Jimmy) Aitken, Sparta, IL; and her best friend and cousin Janie (Litton) Sweaney, Chillicothe, MO, and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was a devout Christian and Presbyterian and led many ladies bible studies. She was a Cashier at Walmart for 20 years retiring in 2010. She loved gardening and had one of the best for years, loved yard work and her flower gardens are a treasure to the eye to anyone that drives by. Nancy also loved to line dance and do genealogy research and had gone back 14 generation’s. She also enjoyed helping others with their research and inspired many to dig deeper into the ancestry. My sincere thanks to all of the Angels Staff at Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab that became her family when Jenece could not be there. Words are not enough to thank her hospice team, Amedisys. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov 9,2020, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs. The Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM, Monday, Nov 9, 2020. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, MO. Services will be officiated by Harold Dinsmore. Memorial donations may be direct to Alzheimers Association, or Susan G Komen for the Cure.
