Where to start? In Terrys passing there is a Sadness, a Missing and Memories.
Sadness: The loss of a wonderful person being taken up early.
Missing: When ya call out their name and none respond. When you catch yourself looking at a chair or a space that you expect to see them and none there. When you look down the hall or around a corner and find them not.
Memories: My memories of Terry go back many years, but the fondest and most endearing are when she and I were married. A couple -three of many I'll share that brings a chuckle to me if only me some 30+ years gone by.
We were at the beach in Virginia, Terry had waded out in waters about mid-chest deep and a wave cometh which knock her off her feet. She managed to get to her feet, wipe her face, wring her hair, rearrange her somewhat dislodged bikini and then another wave cometh and knocked her off her feet again, she repeated face, hair, bikini and then a third wave cometh. At that time I wasn't sure if her and her bikinl were going to make landfall at the same time. Figured I needed to collect her intact... We were traveling back home from Virginia for a vacation driving straight thru, well at 4am about 18hrs into our 23 hr trip while she was sleeping our little Ford Escort started surging. I turned down radio, shut off unnecessary accessories rolled down window to listen for abnormalities. Nothing, perplexed and praying that we'd make it. I looked over and seen sleeping Terry rockin/bouncing in her car seat. I smiled and rolled my eyes greatful it wasn't serious. Just tried to find a radio station that played music that match the surge so I could get in the groove too...I had been overseas for 6 months and was met upon my arrival at KCI airport by Terry and our 3 month old daughter aka. Tiffany. I reckon I held daughter about 10 minutes then was informed of the plan. It involved a babysitter, motel, champagne, and dinner at Red Lobster. Two bottles of champagne. It's not easy to make up 6 months of seperation in few hours but Lord knows we tried all the while sipping the champagne. By the time for dinner we knew we didn't have the ability to make Red Lobster, so we are sitting at Taco Bell. She had ordered tostadas, I reckon she must of really like em cuzz after about 3 bites her eyes rolled and she was face down in tostadas. That's when I knew I was back home and how wonderful it was to be so.
There are many more memories that Terry left with me and others. She gave the gift if life to two children whom I cherish and have her to thank for.
May her spirit live for eternity
